Piano album ”Hommage” was meant as a series of Melodic Etudes in which the author pays homage to various composers of the past centuries who influenced and formed Oleg Plotnikov as a composer and musician.
Lyrical pieces, melodious and expressive, but also rich in harmony, which is so typical for the composers of the Romantic era, alternate with works of fantasy and Russian fairytale style. Grotesque and ironical numbers, close to the composers of the 20th century, take turns with the more impressionistic ones.
Each of 10 Etudes presents the performer with different musical and technical challenges, which help continue to improve their skills.
This collection of virtuoso piano compositions aims to enlarge student’s repertoire and is an excellent material for concert performances.
